Mike Epps, who was originally slated to play Richard Pryor in the upcoming bio-pic was passed over in favor of Eddy Murphy. Epps shared his opinion on the matter in a recent interview.

No disrespect, but I sat with Richard Pryor for an entire year, and he hand-picked me to play that role.”

Mike went on to state that he believes Pryor’s spirit will ultimately decide whether or not another film is made with his wishes still respected. As for the original project, Murphy has reportedly just finished filming.
