Comedian Mike Birbiglia has been nominated for an Outer Critics Circle award for his one-man off-Broadway show Sleepwalk with Me in the category of Outstanding Solo Performance. The show, which deals with Birbiglia’s sleepwalking disorder, began playing at the Bleecker Street Theatre in November and has since been extended twice; it closes June 7.
The Outer Critics Circle describes itself as “the organization of writers and commentators covering New York theater for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway.” Birbiglia’s is up against Mike Burstyn, Mike Daisey, Lorenzo Pisoni and Matt Sax in the category. Winners will be announced May 11.
