Mike Birbiglia has just released the first of what may be more animation shorts set to the audio of his previously released album material. To debut the concept, Birbiglia’s “The Old Mill Pond Story” from his 2007 album My Secret Public Journal Live was chosen. Mike’s brother, Joe — Joe Bags to the faithful followers — produced the cartoon, which was animated by animator Matt Czap.
“I like it because some people just don’t buy comedy albums but they do watch web videos, so it opens out this album to those folks, Mike says. “If people like them, maybe we’ll do some more.”
