Dave O'GormanIrish comedian Dave O’Gorman was frustrated with the lack of stand-up comedy awareness in the city of Dublin. “No matter how often I told family and friends about comedy in Dublin, very few knew there were even comedy nights in the clubs.” O’Gorman told Punchline Magazine. So he decided to take action.

O’Gorman has launched a website called Comedy Ireland, located at with an exclusive focus on comedy news and performances in and around Dublin. The site will contain blogs, reviews, profiles of comedians and venues, a schedule of shows, and comedy podcasts. It’s the first website solely dedicated to the stand-up comedy scene in Ireland. O’Gorman and other comedians will also be participating in the Kilkenny Fringe Festival this year. The show runs for five nights at Rafter Dempseys, and will feature up and coming as well as established stand-up comics in Ireland.
