I am one day in to my 100 amateur stand-ups in 5 days challenge and have seen 30 not so bad clips. I almost randomly chose the clip for today but decided on Cory Stubbs at an open mic hosted by The Coffee Bean. There were not a lot of laughs from the crowd and I think its due to a combination of nervousness, lack of confidence. In my own humble opinion, an audience will know you are not 100% behind your material if meet their silence with a question like, “Really, nothing?” or better yet, repeat and then explain your punchline to them.

This clip is almost a year old and I’m curious how Cory Stubbs has evolved since then, assuming he stuck to it. So Cory, if you happen to find this, send me a new clip!
