cross2David Cross just announced plans to immortalize his current stand-up tour in the form of a taped special. The announcement was made on the comedian’s official Facebook Page (not to be confused with his impersonated Twitter page). The taping will take place in Boston and air on an undisclosed cable station at an as yet undecided time.

“Due to popular demand, I will be shooting the Boston shows for broadcast to a cable channel near you,” Cross said in his Facebook note. “The tour has been going better than anyone expected. Well, not me, I expected it to do well, and be well received, I mean better than anyone in Hollywood expected. So Hollywood has said ‘Yes’ to letting everyone else in on the fun. I’m excited for it.”

Cross has been hard at work promoting his recently-released book, I Drink For a Reason with his first stand-up tour in years. Click here for info on tickets. I recently interviewed Cross about the book, his stand-up and cold beers. You can check that out here.

Cross also made reference to the prophetic nature of his 10 year old Mr. Show sketch about blowing up the moon. He signed off with an enthusiastic, “let’s blow up the moon!!!!!!!!” Celebrate moon destruction day by enjoying that most hilarious clip, embedded below.
