The New York Comedy Festival is holding a contest to find New York’s Funniest Stand-up. The winner will receive a cash prize, a chance to open for one of the festival’s headliners, and a People’s Choice Award! That’s right, the winner will be recognized at the 2010 People’s Choice Awards in LA.
Comedians are invited to audition at two open calls at Caroline’s on Broadway. They’ll be held Tuesday, Oct. 20 and Wednesday Oct. 21, 11am to 4pm. The semi-finals will take place at Stand-Up New York on Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 7pm, and then again the next night at Gotham Comedy Club. The finals will be held Wednesday Nov. 4 at Caroline’s.
