Steve Harvey –one of The Original Kings of Comedy, the star of The Steve Harvey Show, Me and the Boys, and the nationally syndicated Steve Harvey Morning Show– will be taking over as the host of Family Feud this coming fall.
For the next four seasons of the show, Harvey will be pitting family against family in a race to name the most popular answers to survey questions, shouting “Show me _____!”, and sadly informing families that their answers were wrong –completely and entirely wrong. “Checkers?” he’ll be thinking, “You thought checkers was a card game? How? How could you possibly think that?”
A representative from Fremantle Media North America commented that Harvey was chosen for his ability to connect with viewers and his “one-of-a-kind” personality. the Associated Press reports.
He will be taking to the podium from host and former Seinfeld star John O’Hurley, who decided to leave the show in preparation for a role in a production of Chicago, as well as pursuits of other business ventures.
