I’ve been liking Joy Behar’s new show on HLN, mostly because of the amount of great stand-up comedy guests she incorporates. One night, I saw Rich Vos sitting next to famous magazine editor Bonnie Fuller; it was an odd combo. Next week, she’ll have on Susie Essman, Sarah Silverman and David Alan Grier; can’t go wrong with that lineup.
But tonight, legendary comedian, Robert Schimmel pays the Joy Behar Show a visit. Oddly, it seems he’s there to promote his book Cancer on $5 a Day (Chemo Not Included): How Humor Got Me Through the Toughest Journey of My Life. It’s only odd because the book originally came out at the start of 2008 and then in paperback in January of 2009.
Regardless, the show is on at 9 pm tonight on HLN and I highly suggest you tune in. Schimmel, beyond being an incredibly funny, intelligent man, I’ve been lucky enough to chat with the man on three different occasions, the last of which was for Punchline Magazine’s interview series A Tight Five. I’ve dropped that interview below, right after a preview from tonight’s Behar show. Check them out.
