The Sawx haven’t sucked in years, so what’s there to laugh at in Boston now? How about this: the Magners Comedy Festival, which lands at Tommy’s Comedy Lounge and Nick’s Comedy Stop, both on Warrenton Street, for eight shows over three nights, from Feb. 4–6.
The festival kicks off on Feb. 4 with the semifinals of the Magners Comedy Stand-off from 8:30–10:30 p.m. at both venues. It’s not exactly the Yankees–Red Sox blood feud, but New York comics will battle their Boston counterparts on Feb. 5 from 8:30–10:30 p.m at Tommy’s. (A Wild Card show follows at 10:30 p.m.) Call in the laugh-riot police.
A Best of Boston showcase starts at Nick’s at 8:30 the same night. The fun continues on Feb. 6 at Tommy’s with the finals of the Magners Comedy Stand-off at 7:30 and Comedy Confessions at 11 p.m. Over at Nick’s, Gary Gulman headlines. Showtime: 8:30 p.m.
Five pairs of free tix to the Stand-off semis can be won at here. And for info on all shows, go to magnerscomedyusa.com.
