While we all knew since August of last year that Louis would be debuting a brand new sitcom type show on FX called Louie, it wasn’t until today that the network said when the fun would begin. Fittingly, the network chose April 1 — April Fool’s Day — at 10 pm to expose the genius that his C.K. to the world.
The show follows Louis as he tries to balance two young daughters while living and doing stand-up comedy in New York City. In other words, it’s about his real life. Thirteen episodes have been ordered, in which Louis serves as executive producer, writer and director. Not since his last show, HBO’s Lucky Louie (which was never given a fair chance), have we been this excited to see a television show premiere.
