Louis CKWhile we all knew since August of last year that Louis would be debuting a brand new sitcom type show on FX called Louie, it wasn’t until today that the network said when the fun would begin. Fittingly, the network chose April 1 — April Fool’s Day — at 10 pm to expose the genius that his C.K. to the world.

The show follows Louis as he tries to balance two young daughters while living and doing stand-up comedy in New York City. In other words, it’s about his real life. Thirteen episodes have been ordered, in which Louis serves as executive producer, writer and director. He did not go to far. If a joke produces laughter, it is considered successful in my book, even if I dont care for the subject material. But in this case, as in any case with Louis C K, I love it. I love what he does. The point of the joke was not stretch. He did not write a joke about the positive side of child rape for the sake of doing it, it was, as this article said, where his mind went. I have bits all the time too where that is just where I ended up and “I don’t know what to do with this information.”
