Rob RiggleLooks as if another Daily Show With Jon Stewart alum, former correspondent Rob Riggle, may graduate to prime time.

CBS has greenlit the pilot for Team Spitz, an ensemble comedy about a pompous high school football coach (Riggle), according to the Hollywood Reporter. Tackling the role of a football coach should be easy for the stand-up, a physical-comedy kind of guy on the Daily Show.

So, now’s as good a time as ever to look back on Riggle’s brilliant stint at the Daily Show. Enjoy.

This proves that stuff balances out.

NBC had to disrupt the fabric of time and space by shafting Conan so that CBS could embroider happy faces on the fabric of time and space by giving Rob Riggle some of the success he so obviously deserves to have.

The disruption will be fully healed when Paul Scheer, Dave Blumenfeld and Owen Burke also have shows, and very large houses.
