At least 186,256 loyal Facebookers think Betty White should host an upcoming episode of Saturday Night Live. In an unexpected surge of online support, fans are beginning to demand that Betty White, the venerable actress and former star of The Golden Girls, be given hosting duties on the equally venerable television institution.
Despite an impressive eight-decade run in showbiz, White has never hosted SNL before, although odd selections like Nancy Kerrigan and George Steinbrenner have had the honor. (As HuffPo points out.) Will this campaign be successful? Let’s hope Lorne Michaels, the godfather of comedy, is feeling generous with his favors. (Although, at this point it would be more of a favor for SNL for Betty to host.)
