It looks like U.S. audiences are about to see a whole lot more of Russell Brand. The nothing-to-hide British comic and Forgetting Sarah Marshall supporting player has several high profile projects in the works with Warner Bros.
In addition to starring in a remake of the 1981 Dudley Moore film Arthur for the studio, Brand is attached to a script that Warner just purchased for high six figures, Deadline.com reports. The movie, written by William and Scott Bindley, will star Brand as a pampered soccer star who gets arrested in a Texas town and is sentenced to coach a local soccer team.
Brand will also reprise his Sarah Marshall rocker role in the upcoming spinoff, Get Him To The Greek. Note: don’t make any jokes about Brand being over-exposed when these movies come out. Sean Penn will get really pissed off at you.
