Am I dreaming? Am I actually entertaining the idea of watching the entire Oscars this year? Answer: Yes.
Comic veterans Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin are set to host the 2010 Oscars. Together! Both actor/comics have solidified their hero-status in the comic hall of fame with Baldwin’s five-time Emmy winning 30 Rock and hosting nine episodes of SNL to Martin’s 13. This will be Martin’s third time hosting the Oscars, earned by his mind-numbingly hilarious body of work, not to mention his Grammy this year for his album The Crow: Songs for a 5-String Banjo and wild praise for his canonical autobiography Born Standing Up.
Baldwin and Martin have been busy promoting their recent film It’s Complicated with acting royalty Meryl Streep, receiving strongly positive reviews. Martin has not one, but two book deals lined up for the 2010 year, which you can read about here. Baldwin, unfortunately, has only reinforced most 2012 apocalyptic conspiracy theories by bowing out of 30 Rock once his contract expires in…2012! This is what the Mayans were talking about.
