Anyone heading to Austin tomorrow this year’s South By Southwest festival? If so, this flick is definitely a must: American: The Bill Hicks Story. This documentary covers the life and career of the infamously brilliant and subversive comic who died way before his time. It’s an oral history of sorts, featuring accounts from 10 of the comedian’s friends. This is a very promising-looking doc.

The Bill Hicks Story will start screening tomorrow (info here) and will play again on March 15 and March 20 during the festival. The film will be out in the UK on May 14. There is no official stateside release date as of yet.
