The Independent Film Channel is on a comedic roll these days. As part of IFC’s “Always On. Slightly Off” network facelift,  which began with the announcement that new shows developed by David Cross and Will Arnett, Kids in the Hall, and The Onion are set to be launched later this year, the network has also designated new projects from Greg Behrendt and Variety Shac.

Behrendt, best known for coauthoring the bestseller He’s Just Not That Into You, is a career comedian with comedy consulting credits on Sex and the City and Committed, as well as appearances in movies like Dumb and Dumber 2. Variety Shac, conversely, is an all-female sketch comedy troupe from New York who have been leaving crowds in stitches for years.

According to a story on the Hollywood Reporter, Behrendt’s show, There Might Be Cake, will center around Behrendt’s conversations with comedians about their careers and success. The details about Variety Shac’s project have not yet been given. But, we assume all four members of the sketch group — Chelsea Peretti, Shonali Bhowmik, Andrea Rosen and Heather Lawless — will be the stars of the show.
