BonnarooWith Bonnaroo just three months away, there is already plenty of buzz for the much-hyped music and comedy event of the summer.

Naturally, our focus here is on the comedy side of the four-day event held annually in Tennessee. Each year, Bonnaroo hosts a “comedy tent,” featuring some of the best well known and up-and-coming stand-up comics in the biz. Well it looks like the people at Bonnaroo really want to promote the comedy at this year’s event, as it’s recently been announced that there will be a Bonnaroo College Comedy Tour preceding the June festival this year.

The Bonnaroo College Comedy Tour, which is presented by U.S. Cellular, will kick off April 1 at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. There are six other dates already planned, with more to be announced. You can see the full schedule here.

So who’s going to be a part of this college road trip of comedy? How about the hilarious Pete Holmes, Amy Schumer, Kumail Nanjiani and Reggie Watts– the first two of which recently taped Comedy Central Presents specials – and all of which will be a big hit with the college crowd. It’s no secret that college-aged students make up a large portion of Bonnaroo – with most of them checking out the comedy tent. So this is certainly a smart move by Bonnaroo and its sponsors to help spread the word of the great acts that will grace the comedy tent from June 10th-13th.

Along with the college tour announcement, U.S. Cellular is further spreading the comedy gospel by sponsoring an aspiring comedians contest for college students. Students are encouraged to upload a short routine to getusc.com/bonnaroo for a chance to “see and be seen,” and win some great Bonnaroo prizes.

So stop studying and start being funny!
