On his 1990 album, Parental Advisory, the late George Carlin makes the case against censors who say there’s just some topics that cannot be joked about because those topics are inherently unfunny or just plain mean. Take rape, Carlin says. “‘You can’t joke about rape; rape’s not funny.’” He concludes: “I can prove to you that rape is funny: Picture Porky Pig raping Elmer Fudd.”
Well, last night Dave Chappelle, who, as you know, has not been keeping regular touring or release schedules since he left his ultra popular Comedy Central sketch show, visited the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles and took Carlin’s philosophy about rape jokes even further. Check it out and let us know what you think!
