Who’s face do you associate most with Jell-O? Yes, that’s right, Bill Cosby, and he is back after a 10 year hiatus from the brand. Kraft Foods decided to team up with Cosby again for their new “Hello Jell-O” campaign.
Cosby says, “Reunited with strawberry, raspberry and blueberry, I am berry, berry, happy to be back working with JELL-O. Still today, people come up to me and ask me about JELL-O pudding and gelatin, and as the great comedian Jack Benny said, ‘JELL-O Again!'”
Sadly this time around he will be behind the camera as the executive producer of the advertisements. But cheer up! In return Kraft will sponsor Cosby’s new web series OBKB, in which he will interview children from ages 6 to 11 in the same style as Kids Say The Darndest Things.
His reason for, what we could call, a remake of a classic show? “You watch TV, all these reality shows and profanity and things like that, we need to show the heart and the laughter that children have,” he remarked in an interview. The 10-minute webisodes will begin airing on Cosby’s Ustream channel May 31st. For once a reality show, and a remake, to look forward to.
Here’s what one of the new Cosby-produced spots looks like; this one was just released today.
