Pee-wee Herman will head to Sturgis, South Dakota on August 8 and 9 to be a ringleader for festivities at the Legendary Buffalo Chip biker campground. The celebration is part of the 70th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. While he’s there, Pee-wee will be taping his “New Sturgis Adventures,” taking part in the festivities, signing autographs, and helping to raise money for various South Dakota charities.
The Paul Reubens character has had a resurgence in popularity lately thanks to his January live show run in Los Angeles and his upcoming six-week engagement of the same show in New York City, starting Oct. 26.
But before that happens, fans can get involved in two Pee-wee conducted events at the bike rally. The first is an update to the famous “Biker Bar Scene” from the now classic 1985 flick Pee-wee’s Big Adventure. Then, fans can take part in the orchestration of “The World’s Largest Tequila Dance,” which will go in the Guinness Book of World Records.
We’re not exactly sure how a tequila dance works or whether this one has much Guinness Book competition, but we imagine it involves a lot of drunk bikers.
Bonus: Pee-wee themed beer koozies on sale at the rally. And if you need a refresher on the original “Biker Bar Scene,” check it out below.
