Family, friends, and supporters came together Monday night at Carolines on Broadway in New York City for comedian Bob Saget’s annual scleroderma fundraiser. And just moments ago, Saget tweeted that the event raised nearly $700,000.
The Scleroderma Research Foundation (srfcure.org) hosted ‘Cool Comedy – Hot Cuisine,’ a comedy show with delicious food made by celebrity chefs Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken. Many comedic friends of Saget were in attendance to show their support. Saget lost his sister to the disease in 1993. Among the funny performers were Jeffrey Ross, Jerry Seinfeld, Brian Regan, James Smith, and Seth Meyers.

Ross kicked the show off talking about the different fundraisers he performs at. “I like doing Alzheimer’s benefits because I can repeat material,” he said. News reporter Brian Williams even surprised guests by taking the stage and performing his own brand of stand-up.
The SRF was established in 1987 and funds research to find a cure for the life threatening illness. This year, it has already funded more than $1 million in direct research grants.
