The Improv, the country’s biggest comedy club chain, has just unveiled a new contest for stand-up comedians around the country. The 5 Spot gives comics the chance to be flown out to LA to perform in front of the club’s national booker. So, let’s get right to the details, shall we?

To register, go to the 5 Spot web page, create an Improv Comedian Profile and start inviting people to become your “fans.”

If you’re worried about quality control, there is a catch. According to the website, “Improv pages are only available to professional comedians and you must claim the page directly through us.”

Whoever gets the most fans by Jan. 1, 2011 wins; however, the website says a new challenge will be unveiled every few weeks with each winner being flown to LA. If you’re interested, the best way to clear things up is to register, make a profile and see what it’s all about. To do so, click here.

Good luck, funny people.
