What’s the next logical step after you’ve adapted your off-Broadway one-man show about sleepwalking into a successful book? For Mike Birbiglia, it’s becoming a window display.
That’s right. The big-time comic/author will spend a week in a window display starting this Wednesday with a queen-sized bed at the flagship Macy’s store in Herald Square in New York City. It’s part of a tie-in with Downy Fabric Softener and Macy’s line of bedding.
Birbiglia, whose show/book, Sleepwalk With Me chronicled his lifelong struggle with chronic sleepwalking, commented on the unusual promotional act to MSN Entertainment.
He’s “really looking forward to having a job where there’s a queen-size bed right next to me at all times. It’s kind of the best-case scenario.” He will also be interacting with fans online, but if you’re in New York and you’re a fan of Birbigs, you know where you need to be.
