Chelsea Handler might be the busiest comedienne on television right now. Days after E! announced their order for a pop culture commentary show (executive produced by Handler) and a behind-the-scenes exploration of Chelsea Lately, NBC has just announced they’ve picked up yet another Handler project. Based on her book, Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea, the comedy stars a 20-something woman with rather open views about dating, friends and family.
And, if Handler’s one of the busiest comediennes, NBC’s surely one of the busiest networks: Vodka is just one of four comedy pilots they picked up yesterday, and one of 11 total. Another new acquisition, written by and starring Whitney Cummings, tells the tale of a young couple balancing their relationship with the demands of our tough world.
