Need some fine art to grace your living room? Or, alternatively, a painting featuring the piercing gaze of America’s greatest American?
Stephen Colbert is auctioning off one of his infamous portraits through Phillips de Pury and Company. And Portrait 5, Stephen(s) doesn’t present any old Colbert visage: this piece of art has been enhanced by Shepard Fairey’s spray paint, Andres Serrano’s Sharpie, and Frank Stella’s glance.
All proceeds benefit school arts projects through DonorsChoose.org, so do your country proud and consider making a bid.
The portrait can be viewed between Friday, Feb. 25 and Monday, March 7, at 450 W. 15th Street in New York City. Can’t make it? The auction will be taped and aired for a future episode of The Colbert Report. Check out the painting below, from the Dec. 8 episode of the show.
