Every time I catch Ted Alexandro live, the dude seems to be better than the last time I saw him. Throughout the years, Ted’s material has gotten bit more dark, thoughtful and as a result all-around funnier and satisfying. It was a treat to see him last week at the Beacon Theater as he was one of a handful of amazing comics paying tribute to Greg Giraldo and raising money for his family.
Even better? Finding out yesterday that Ted is preparing to record a new album this year.
His first, As Much As You Want, came out in 2003. It’s a masterpiece, for sure. But damn you, Ted for making us wait so long for a follow-up. Anyway, check out Alexandro’s set on Late Show with David Letterman from Friday night. You won’t be disappointed.
