Late yesterday, news broke that the late Sam Kinison’s best friend, comedian Carl La Bove had claimed in court that his ex-wife’s child was fathered by Kinison. But that story, whom many believe to be the truth, has been circulating in the comedy world for years.
On Monday, an episode of WTF with Marc Maron will go live, wherein Maron sits down with La Bove. “I was 22 years old when I got a job as a doorman at the Comedy Store in LA,” Maron tells Punchline Magazine. “Within weeks of being there I became the mascot of the Kinison gang and I eventually lost my mind from cocaine and mindfucking. Carl La Bove, Sam’s opening act and best friend, was the guy that sucked me into the world of Sam. I have had a grudge against him and Sam for years. Now Carl has his own grudge with Sam that he’s trying to set straight–spiritually and legally. We put it all to rest on Monday’s episode.”
