Morgan Murphy, punks!

Hey, New England comedy fans! Boston’s Women in Comedy Festival is around the corner, and they’ve just released the lineup and schedule for the event. Some of the many performers include sketch duo Kristen Schaal and Kurt Braunohler, Jen Kirkman and Morgan Murphy.

And, if you’re interested in the nitty-gritty underbelly of comedic performance – how to break into the field, how to manage a career, creative challenges – there will also be panel discussions featuring performers, writers and other experts.

The festival runs March 9-13, and for tickets and more details, check out womenincomedyfestival.com. With all the controversy about SXSW’s decidedly male-heavy comedy lineup, the discussions over in Boston should be interesting, to say the least.
