Funny Or Die launches sketch comedy contest

Funny Or DieSketch comedy’s a difficult beast to wrangle. We frequently see examples of the top notch sketch comedy success stories – just take a look at The Second City’s alumni list and the cast of Saturday Night Live or SCTV. That means there are also hundreds, maybe trillions, of sketch comedy troupes that are all vying for a shot at the big time.

That chance may have arrived for some with a new contest. The Funny Or Die Sketch Comedy Challenge aims to support sketch troops in their efforts to share the comedy wealth with the world through – what else? – the Internet. For the competition, sponsored by T-Mobile, three sketch troops have created videos inspired by the word “connected,” and fans can watch and vote on the videos at The winning group, in addition to a bunch of T-Mobile goodies, will have the opportunity to make a video with the Funny Or Die team for the website and for T-Mobile’s video platforms.
