I love seeing comedians getting recognition in less stand-up-focused realms – it’s like the real world acknowledges there’s cool shit happening in the weird, wild world of comedy.
So we have good news today from the Off-Broadway League: Mike Birbiglia’s been nominated for a Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway for his solo show, My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend.
This marks his second nomination in this category; he was previously nominated for his first one-man show Sleepwalk With Me. The awards ceremony goes down May 1 in New York City, and the ceremony is open to the public! Go here for details and tickets. And cross your fingers for Birbigs.
