Ray RomanoAs most of you know, The Office is ending its seventh glorious season on May 19. Most of you probably also know that Will Ferrell has been cast as Steve Carell’s non-permanent replacement (watch the video) as he’ll enjoy a multi-episode stint on the NBC hit. Still others might already know that Ricky Gervais and Will Arnett are set to make appearances on the final show of the season.

All good news.

Now we’re hearing from Hollywood Reporter, that producers have added Ray Romano, James Spader and Catherine Tate to the hour-long episode. At this point, we’re not even sure there needs to be a script for the finale. People are going to watch regardless.

I think this is awesome, if it’s true. Of everyone that’s been mentioned, of course I’d love to have Will Ferrell or Ricky Gervais, but they seem a bit unlikely…of the rest I’d love to see James Spader come on board. He has such an understated and dry sense of humor he’d be the perfect opposite for Michael Scott, who was always trying to hard to be funny. I think it’d be a great change to have them have a boss that they weren’t sure, ever, if he was really kidding or not. It could really ramp up that comedic awkwardness they do so well. My kids had deleted a few of the episodes I had saved on my DVR by mistake, so luckily as a DISH customer and employee I was able to see the episodes I missed at DISH Online. Can’t wait for the finale!
