When your new basic cable show averages 2.6 million viewers a night — improving that time slot’s performance by more than 85 percent — you get a choice as to whether you want to do that show for another season.
Such is the case with comedian Larry the Cable Guy and his travelogue show on History, Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy. A rep for the comedian confirmed the news to Punchline Magazine. And get this: Larry is already in the process of shooting new episodes.
I asked Larry in February, right before the series premiered if he thought he’d like to do another season, having already filmed and wrapped the first one. “If it goes good, and they want me to do it again, I will. ButI enjoy doing stand-up, that’s what I do”
Larry continued: “I am completely content in going on the road and doing 130, 140 shows a year, and working half the year…because I love doing stand-up. I love it. These are little things that come along where you’re like, “You know what, it’s something different, I think my fans might like this. Plus, it’s something I think I’d like to do. I get to travel around, I get to meet people – yeah, I think I’ll do it.”
And it turns out, Larry’s down for another round!
