Whitney CummingsFast-rising stand-up comedian Whitney Cummings’ pilot, Whitney has been picked up for production at NBC, it was just announced at the network’s upfront presentation tonight.

As we reported back in January, the pilot centered around a young couple trying to balance their lives together. Comedian Chris D’Elia was, at the time, cast to play opposite of Cummings.

Cummings had told Punchline Magazine this about the NBC show: “It’s basically just the opposite of every sitcom. It’s about the darker, more twisted side of relationships and my unromantic take on marriage and relationships. It’s like an edgier, updated version of Mad About You.”

he show was not as funny as I had hoped it would be.  Good job marketing it though!

  • Not a hater

If the commercials are any indication, this show will be horrible.  Who is it supposed to appeal to?  Elderly squirrels?

      The promos look AWFUL.

And NBC is really overdoing it!

Hundreds of ads!  Really pissing people off.

This show will be dead before the 4th episode.

I saw the pilot episode in a consumer research group. It was terrible. Very crass, vulgar, and stupidly written. It’s almost insulting to watch.

one other thing…i bet the show doesn’t even last a full season.

  • bill hilly

very typical of hollywood. she is one of the most unoriginal/least funny comedians on the planet, which makes perfect sense why she gets her own show. i wonder how many dicks she had to suck to make that happen…
