At the moment, ABC Family might be best known for airing Full House reruns and marathons of the entire Harry Potter movie series – which explains why I watch the channel so much. Recently, though, they’ve been expanding their offerings to original scripted series.
One new series will certainly be of interest to you, dear reader. Hasan Minhaj, a comedian known best for his work on MTV’s Disaster Date, will be joining the cast of a new comedy on the channel called State of Georgia as a physics graduate student from Columbia. The show centers on Georgia (played by Raven Symoné), an aspiring actress, who moves from the South to New York to follow her dreams.
And, if you’re looking for summer TV shows to watch, you’re in luck! The show premieres June 29 at 8:30 pm EST.
We’ve been keeping pretty close tabs on Minhaj for the last few years. You can check out our interview with him here, and our review of his debut stand-up comedy album here.
