Some of my favorite comedy films are low-budget, low-key indie flicks that don’t substitute snazzy production for solid plot or talented actors. With any luck, a new Broken Lizard (the folks who brought you Super Troopers and Beerfest) production called The Babymakers will fall in that category of “awesome,” especially since some rising comedy stars are involved.
Variety reports Olivia Munn, former Attack of the Show fixture and current Daily Show correspondent, will be starring in the new film alongside Paul Schneider, of Parks and Recreation fame. The film centers on a married couple who want to have a baby, but cannot, so they set out to rob a sperm bank where the husband had made a deposit years before.
Production is set to begin this summer, so you’ll have to be a little patient to see how one goes about robbing a sperm bank.
