Some of my favorite moments watching TV shows or movies is finding previously unknown actors with tiny, tiny roles or – even better – in the background shot as extras. Jenna Fischer (also known as Pam on The Office), for example, appeared in The 40 Year Old Virgin. Now you know!
And, on Conan last night, Neil Patrick Harris revealed that Conan himself won a walk-on cameo role on How I Met Your Mother at a charity event. Conan’s hoping that the writers will just stick him in the background at a bar, where he will do everything in his power to draw attention to himself.
But given his notoriety, and his hard-to-ignore giant red pomp, expect to see him written in as a character. Oh well. Watch the interview here to learn a little more about the auction and the prize!
