Melissa McCarthyMelissa McCarthy offered some of the funniest moments in Judd Apatow’s summer blockbuster Bridesmaids (side note: if you haven’t seen the film yet, stop reading and go do it, you owe it to society).

And, in a while, come back for more McCarthy-Apatow goodness. The Hollywood Reporter informs us that McCarthy just signed on to join the cast of his new untitled comedy starring Apatow fixtures Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann, who are reprising their roles as the Knocked Up married couple. And if that weren’t enough funny, Albert Brooks is also a cast member.

McCarthy’s profile has been on the rise since she became the co-star of the CBS sitcom Mike & Molly, where she plays opposite of stand-up comedian Billy Gardell.
