Summer in New York City — or, really just about anywhere that has seasons — can feel like an endurance test. At least it does to me, a guy who spends a lot of time in New York and who would rather lay naked on a full-powered air conditioner unit than even look at a beach. I’ll just come out and say it. I fucking hate summer in New York. It’s 90 degrees, the humidity is like eleventeen hundred percent, your asscrack sweats and as comedian Sheng Weng points out in this video, “it smells like garbage just got out of yoga.”
So where can you go to find some shade, enjoy a calming boat ride and perhaps commune with animals? The answer, of course, is Central Park.
