While Louis C.K. rounded out his tour of prime time and late night talk shows on Letterman a few nights ago, up and coming stand-up comedian Jarrod Harris made his foray into the late night world on Lopez Tonight. As part of the recent Southern Comedy Quartet Tour featuring Rory Scovel, Sean Patton, and Nate Bargatze, Jarrod has kept himself in good company comedy-wise as well as voicing and co-writing popular web series Action Figure Therapy.
Throughout his set, Harris remained cool and collected, going through clever, unique bits about Alaskan gangster neighbors and the ways he’s figured how to beat creditors. There’s a natural sharpness about his delivery and presence onstage that make Harris both easy to listen to and laugh with.
Also, after his set, Lopez allowed for a special performance by Jarrod of his previous career as a niche “Vietnamese Lounge Singer” which was, along the lines of Rory Scovel and Jon Dore’s dual performance on Conan a few weeks ago, completely unexpected, but thoroughly hilarious. With his first time performing on a late night talk show, Harris made quite the impression and hopefully, will get to do so again very soon.
