Quickly-rising comedian Anthony Jeselnik, who most recently garnered wide attention with his stellar performance at Comedy Central’s Roast of Donald Trump in March as well as a killer set on Conan last month (see video below), has landed a development deal with the network. According to the deal, Jeselnik will star in and executive produce a show to be developed and shot early next year. Although details about the show are scarce right now, Jeselnik tells Laughspin, “I can say that it will be a very dark, personality driven show.”
At the end of last year, Laughspin — which was then called Punchline Magazine — named Jeselnik’s debut CD Shakespeare the number one comedy album on our annual top 10 list. “I don’t think I’d be where I am today if you guy’s didn’t change your name to Laughspin,” Jeselnik tells me.
