If all goes according to plan, multi-faceted comedian Demetri Martin will join a long, successful tradition of animated comedy at Fox, which boasts The Simpsons, Family Guy and most recently Bob’s Burgers. According to Deadline, Martin is finalizing a deal with the network, wherein he would voice the lead character and executive produce an animated series centered around a family living in the Pacficic Northwest.
This would be Martin’s second go around at a weekly television show, having helmed two seasons of sketch show Important Things with Demetri Martin for Comedy Central between 2009 – 2010. Most recently, he published his first book, titled This is a Book, which hit stores this past spring. Before that, Martin parlayed his stand-up comedy success – including theater tours and an hour special for Comedy Central – in co-starring movie roles in comedies like Take Me Home Tonight and The Rocker. He even landed a starring role in Ang Lee’s 2009 flick Taking Woodstock.
