Even with the Sept. 22 premiere of Whitney fast approaching, execs at NBC are shuffling around castmembers on comedian Whitney Cummings’ network star vehicle. And this time, it’s a big one. Former Malcolm in the Middle star Jane Kaczmarek has been tapped to play Whitney’s outspoken mother, who has been married and divorced three times.

The series, created by Cummings, is centered around a happily unmarried couple (comedian Chris D’Elia co-stars). In the pilot, Beverly D’Angelo played the mom role but the scenes will be re-shot with Kaczmarek. To give you a better taste of Whitney, check out the show trailer below and tell us what you think. Will you be tuning in?
