Patton Oswalt, Patrice Oneal cast in Johnny Knoxville comedy flick

For the past few years Johnny Knoxville, professional Jackass, has been slowly gaining some credibility as a comedic actor (The Ringer, Dukes of Hazzard); he even co-starred in Kevin Spacey’s Father Of Invention last year. I know, I know. None of them were “hits” or “good,” but at least Knoxville showed he could do a little more than have his genitals mashed or swim in poop.

The point is this: Knoxville will be surrounded by stellar comedians in his next movie– an as-of-yet-untitled project starring Patton Oswalt, Rob Riggle and Patrice Oneal. And it could only help Knoxville’s bid to become a real actor. According to Deadline, the story centers around “Knoxville and Oswalt [who] will play battling brothers who attempt to honor their ailing father by taking a troop of boys on a camping trip. It all goes awry.” Regardless of plot, I’ll be interested to see if Oswalt and Oneal have any scenes together. They’re an odd pairing, for sure.
