Though plans for the movie were discussed earlier this year, we finally have some hard details on the new comedy, Southern Rivals, starring Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis. It looks like the pair and co. will head down to New Orleans to begin shooting Oct. 31 and will work there into late January of next year, according to Nola.com, who quotes Ferrell describing the flick: “[Zach and I] kind of rival Southern politicians in a small congressional district in South Carolina that we’ll release for the election season next year. It kind of comments on the circus that is now modern day politics.”

Jay Roach, the man behind the Meet The Parents franchise as well as Borat, Dinner for Schmucks and more is directing and producing Southern Rivals while Ferrell, Galifianakis and Adam McKay (Ferrell’s partner at Funny Or Die) all have producing credits. And while plot details of the upcoming movie are sparse right now, at least we can relish in the below example of what happens when Will and Zach are put in front of a video camera.
