During Mike & Molly‘s break after its first season on CBS, its co-star Melissa McCarthy snagged herself the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. It’s a blessing and a curse, for sure, since all eyes will be on McCarthy tonight as the show’s second season premieres at 9:30 pm ET. After all, in winning the Emmy, the relative newcomer beat out comedy giants Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, not to mention veteran actresses Laura Linney and Martha Plimpton. McCarthy, who became the official scene stealer in the box office smash Bridemaids will have a lot of proving to do.
