It’s official: Ricky Gervais is back on Twitter

Since late yesterday, Ricky Gervais (or @RickyGervais, if you will) has been Tweeting non-stop. Before that time, the hugely famous comic was silent– since Jan. 9, 2010 when he signed off with, “I am sorry, but I am going to stop these tweets because I don’t see the point. Please follow my blog at rickygervais.com.”

Yesterday, he re-started with this: “Hello, Anybody there?” And since that time, although the Tweets have been constant, many have wondered if it was really Gervais — dude doesn’t even have a proper Twitter profile pic — or if someone possibly hijacked his feed. Well, according to actor Warwick Davis, his friend and star of Gervais’ upcoming faux-reality show Life’s Too Short, the feed is 100 percent real. Moments ago, Davis Tweeted the following:
