After a fruitful 88-episode run on Comedy Central, Reno 911! went away forever in 2009. Since that time, most of the cast has gone on to do great things, and that’s fantastic. Really. But wouldn’t you want just a wee bit more of Reno?
It might happen. “It’s still a long shot, but there’s a ray of hope,” reports Vulture. “Producers Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher have been in active discussions with Netflix about reviving the comedy, though they caution that a deal isn’t yet sealed with co-creators and stars Thomas Lennon, Robert Ben Garant, and Kerri Kenney-Silver.”
There’s still a ton of things that would have to happen in order for a deal like this to take place. Comedy Central would have to be ok with having new episodes of the show appear exclusively on Netflix. And maybe more importantly, Reno 911!’s creators, Thomas Lennon, Robert Ben Garant and Kerri Kenney-Silver would have to sign on to the project.
