Margaret Cho returns to premium cable this weekend with another stand-up special, her sixth. Cho Dependent captures a December 2010 Atlanta performance from the comedian’s tour in support of her musical comedy album by the same name.
The new special will feature, as is to be expected, new stories about Cho’s mother and grandparents, told in that funny Korean accent that fans of the Notorious C.H.O. have loved so well for almost 20 years. And since Cho is not one to shy away from controversy or politically-charged humor, there will also be commentary on those twin horrors, Dancing with the Stars and Sarah Palin, with some material on weed and sexting thrown in for good measure. Setting it apart from her other specials, Cho Dependent will also feature songs from her aforementioned album.
Cho Dependent airs this Saturday, Oct. 15 on Showtime. A DVD with bonus material will be available on Nov. 22.
