Comedy Central has ordered a half-hour pilot to star Andy Daly called Review with Forrest MacNeil, an adaptation of the Australian series Review with Myles Barlow, in which the titular character uses a one-to-five-star review format to critique “difficult life experiences” like sex, divorce, theft and murder. Complicating matters are the effects of MacNeil’s exploits on his family and friends.
Review with Forrest MacNeil seems like a perfect fit for Daly (pictured, above in last year’s live-action Yogi Bear), a comedic genius who proved many times over with his 2008 stand-up comedy album Nine Sweaters his ability to portray seemingly normal characters with barely contained, darkly comic madness bubbling just below the surface. The show should draw the attention of Nine Sweaters fans, as well as fans of Eastbound and Down, the third and final season of which Daly recently finished shooting.
